DESCRIPTION:CEARC Greenhouse Facility Roundtable \nWe have this tour scheduled for the Upper Arlington Rotary Club on Tuesday\, September 10th from 10:30am-11:30am. \n  \nThe CEARC is located at 2515 Carmack Road\, Columbus\, OH 43210. The parking is very limited directly at the CEARC and typically there is no guest or event parking at the CEARC\, parking directly at the CEARC is reserved for faculty\, staff\, and students who are working in the facility. If you have any guests with mobility issues\, there are handicap spaces in the CEARC parking lot and guests are welcome to park there. \n  \nIf you have guests attending that are able to walk 3-5 minutes\, you may instruct them to park in the large gravel Event Parking Lot at Waterman\, located at 2510 Carmack Road\, Columbus\, OH 43210. We also have directional signs up with arrows pointing to the Event Parking. I have attached our map to help with directions. The Event Parking Lot is colored blue on the map\, once parked guests can walk along the paved road (colored green on the map) to the entrance of the CEARC that is colored teal on the map. \n  \nAlso\, due to the construction on the property\, the entrance to Waterman at Lane Ave will be used for construction traffic only. All staff and event traffic should enter and exit at the entrance at Kenny Road near the Kunz-Brundige Franklin County Extension Building.

DESCRIPTION:Rotary Roundtable – Jane Leach\, Future Ready Columbus \nZoom link will be emailed to members in advance \n  \nBy the time a child reaches the age of 5\, 90% of their brain has developed\, making the progression from birth to kindergarten the most significant time in their life. Early childhood development – positive and negative – directly affects how the brain develops\, leaving a lasting impact on learning\, behavior\, and health. \nIn Franklin County\, only 40% of our children are ready for kindergarten. Further\, this low percentage of children ready for kindergarten negatively impacts not only the children’s lives\, but our entire community. You can help change the trajectory of our children’s lives today and become part of the solution. \nFuture Ready Columbus\, a nonprofit\, collective impact\, is leading the charge and has assembled a team of central Ohio community leaders and government officials\, known as the Early Childhood Advisory Council (ECAC)\, to develop an equitable\, action-oriented kindergarten readiness plan\, Future Ready by 5. \nResearch demonstrates that four Kindergarten Readiness Drivers are crucial to a child’s ability to be ready for kindergarten: Health & Behavioral Health\, Families & Communities\, Education & Development Supports\, and Public & Private Infrastructure. These four drivers come together as our early childhood system. In Franklin County\, our system is broken\, and we must fix it. \nThe February 9th round table will educate attendees on the solution and the community-wide request for insight on Future Ready by 5. The insights collected in this meeting will ensure your voice is included in this solution’s driven plan\, Future Ready by 5\, so more of OUR children are ready for kindergarten. DESCRIPTION:Please join us via Zoom for our UA Rotary Roundtable featuring UA Schools Superintendent Paul Imhoff discussing the 20-21 school year.  Zoom login information will be emailed to members in advance of this meeting. \nPlease note that we have moved up the start time for Roundtable meetings to 10 AM instead of 10:30 to allow for enough time between the Roundtable meeting and the regular noon club meeting. \nPaul Imhoff joined Upper Arlington Schools as superintendent in July 2013 and says he cannot imagine a better place to work and raise a family. Dr. Imhoff began his education career in middle school and high school language arts and reading. His administrative experience in public education has spanned over 20 years. This experience includes superintendent of Mariemont City Schools and assistant superintendent in Madeira City Schools. Dr. Imhoff earned his doctorate of Education from Miami University\, his Master of Science in Education from the University of Dayton\, and his Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University. He was recently selected as the 2020-2021 president-elect of AASA\, and was named the 2018 Ohio Superintendent of the Year. Dr. Imhoff is also a founding member of The Stand Project\, an Upper Arlington community action project focused on the prevention of substance abuse.
