DESCRIPTION:  \nUA Rotary need ten volunteers to help at the Homeless Families Foundation Holiday Store.  The Homeless Families Foundation Holiday Store program allows parents of children served by HFF to select free gifts for their children ranging in age from newborn to 18 years old.  UA Rotary will be organizing and wrapping gifts for these families. You are also welcome to donate gifts or funding to HFF to help with this program. DESCRIPTION:SIGN UP FOR UPPER ARLINGTON SENIOR SERVICE SATURDAY  \nUpper Arlington Rotary would like to provide 10 or more Rotarians to assist Upper Arlington senior citizens in need of yard care (primarily leaf raking).  This is an outdoor activity\, so social distancing should be easy to achieve.  Our volunteers need to be available on Saturday\, November 28\, 2020\, from 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Volunteers (who will include Rotarians and Interact Club Members from UAHS\, Hastings and Jones) will meet at the Upper Arlington Senior Center Parking lot at 8:45 a.m. and then be sent out into the community in 2 groups to service a list of homes.  This is wonderful opportunity for our MEMBERS and their teenage relatives to engage in community service\, so please consider volunteering your children\, grandchildren\, etc.  Please contact Jim McGovern at jamesmmcgovern@yahoo.com to sign up and/or if you have any questions.

SUMMARY:UA Rotary volunteering with Meals on Wheels
DESCRIPTION:UA Rotary covers a Meals on Wheels route once a month on a Saturday morning.  Rotary committed to delivering route V1410 which covers stops in Worthington and areas around Bethel/Henderson Road. \nThe deliveries can be completed by one or two Rotarians and this is a great activity to involve your family including younger children to introduce them to service.  The route typically will take one driver about three hours from the time you pick up meals at the Smoky Row Fire station to the time you get home. \nWe try to get volunteers to commit to dates several months in advance\, but that doesn’t always occur\, and sometimes volunteers end up not being able to do it and we need replacements. \nIf you are interested in helping with this very rewarding service\, please contact Barri Jones at twinsmom911@yahoo.com to let her know of your interest and to see what upcoming dates are available.  Dates UA Rotary has for spring and summer of 2020 are listed below (please note that these dates may already be covered by another member.  Contact Barri to make sure. \nMarch 14 \nApril 11 \nMay 9 \nJune 13 \nJuly 11 \n

DESCRIPTION:UPDATED 3.23.20: POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19 SITUATION \nDUE TO GOVERNOR DEWINE’S SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER\, HOMELESS FAMILIES FOUNDATION HAS POSTPONED THIS EVENT TO A LATER DATE.  IN THE MEANTIME\, PLEASE READ BELOW FOR HOW YOU CAN HELP RIGHT NOW. \nHFF is  working with St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church to get the food drive rescheduled in the coming months\, and have urged their members to Donate Online or via Amazon Wish-list in the meantime. HFF is able to order items on a weekly basis from Mid-Ohio Foodbank\, so monetary donations to cover those costs are currently the greatest need. \n  \nHFF’s urgent needs list  is the other way to help out\, and those items can be dropped off to HFF on Monday’s between 10am-1pm. Please call Chad Gardner at 614-715-8551 when you arrive as the doors will be locked to slow community spread of the virus. HFF is closed to the public at this time with limited staffing onsite\, but they are still serving HFF families in a variety of ways. One big way is by continuing to deliver food and cleaning supplies to families on weekdays. \n  \n
